The immunologists from Monash University, Australia, have revealed that they have discovered a specialized cell crowding the bloodstream of acute malaria sufferers, a cell that seemed to switch off in different immune system. Earlier it was believed that severe malaria was caused due to gene mutations. With the new discovery that T-cells play an important role in malaria, the researchers think of new dimensions in the treatment of this killer disease.

The study spread over medical records of 31,462 patients who underwent 190,712 CT scans within 22 years. Amongst these, 33 percent underwent 5 or 5+ scans, 5 percent had 22+ and 1 percent had 38+ scans. 15 percent patients underwent scans with increasing doses of radiations exceeding 100 millisieverts i.e. mSv; it is similar to the dose of radiation that are in a chest x-ray. 4 percent received 250+ mSv, while 1 percent patients were scanned with more than 399 mSv.

But in case of colon rectal cancer the incidents were the greatest in the vegetarian than the other group. These findings contradicted the previous findings linking with the red meat eating.

“No study has analyzed the vegetarian diet like this before and there are a lot of confusions about this issue. It suggest that the among vegetarians and fish eaters other cancer ratio is low. It doesn’t affirm that the vegetarians are safe from colorectal cancer and it has forced us to think about the facts of meat,” study leader Professor Tim Key said.

“This technique really works because these tiny balls can be injected with very fine needles and they adopt the shape of the cavity. Through this process stem cells get connected with the other others and star the formation of new tissues,” study leader Dr Mike Modo said.

Study; Fasting signal found active in the obese tissues

A new research has revealed that the signaling system (CREB) which maintains blood sugar level during fasting has also been found active in the fat tissues of obese mice at the early stages of developing type 2 diabetes.

This is also noticed that CREB was comparatively less active in healthy mice but it did uncontrolled activities in the obese mice. So, the researchers concluded that obese pressure increases the activity of CREB genes and they tend toward insulin resistance.
