The nap not only gives the caretakers a break to take rest it also helps the children by reducing their anxiety level, hyperactivity and depression. The study was carried on for a period of 3.4 weeks with inputs from parents and caretakers about their children’s nap timings.

Accordingly there were two categories of students those who take a regular nap (77%) and those who don’t (23%). The end of this study revealed the fact that in the age group of 4 to 5, children who took a timely daytime nap showed reduced levels of hyperactivity, depression and anxiety. The study also advised the parents to insist this day time nap as a necessary one and asked them to make it a point to take some rest as it would encourage children to develop this habbit.
